MAKEDA ARTS is founded by artist, educator and thought leader, Katherine Cheairs, MFA, to expand art and humanities educational opportunities to individuals and communities who have experienced historic and systems-based exclusion and marginalization.
MAKEDA ARTS is committed to providing high-quality art, media, and humanities educational programming to foster creativity, lifelong learning, empathy, and community building. An emphasis on inquiry as well as project-based learning is woven throughout all programs.

MAKEDA SCHOOL FOR MEDIA, ART AND HUMANITIES is an online platform offering high-quality virtual classes, workshops, screenings, seminars, teach-ins, and special events for diverse audiences.
RESTORATIVE MEDIA PRAXIS (RMP) is a customizable program for court-involved and correctional institutions to implement media literacy and digital-filmmaking-related programming for youth, adults, and communities impacted by the criminal justice system and mass incarceration.
MAKEDA ARTS SOLUTIONS provides organizations with planning, research, design, and evaluation strategies for implementing new art education programs or assessing impact and improving the quality of existing programs.
MAKEDA MULTIMEDIA develops interdisciplinary multimedia projects related to issues of social justice.
