Creativity, Theory and Practice for the People

MAKEDA SCHOOL FOR ART, MEDIA AND HUMANITIES

MAKEDA SCHOOL FOR ART, MEDIA AND HUMANITIES is founded in the tradition of the freedom school and progressive-education models and is an opportunity to build community and engagement, through the shared practice of learning around a particular set of ideas. In this case, those ideas emerge from thinking about art, theory, creativity, practice and humanities for the people not a part of a traditional academic or art institution setting, yet interested in expanding their own learning and understanding.

MAKEDA SCHOOL offers high-quality and unique online classes, workshops, screenings, seminars, teach-ins, and special events for diverse audiences to explore media-making, art, humanities, and storytelling in a supportive and inclusive virtual environment.

MAKEDA SCHOOL emphasizes intimate online class sizes to deepen the educational experience of program participants and features sliding-scale fees for programs to ensure greater accessibility.
